Kitchen Assistant - Oaklands care home ( Preston)

Location: Preston PR3 1UA 

Pay: £12.21 Per Hour  

Hours: 20 hours per week / Monday – Sunday ( 5hr shifts over 7 days)

Job Type: Part Time, Permanent

We are seeking a hardworking and reliable Kitchen Assistant to join our team at a 30-bedded nursing home. Our facility specializes in providing care for individuals with physical disabilities and younger adults. If you have a passion for food and a commitment to quality, we want to hear from you! 

What You’ll be Doing    

·        Assist in the preparation and serving of meals 

·        Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen and dining areas 

·        Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment 

·        Help with inventory management and stock rotation 

·        Follow food safety and hygiene standards 

·        Support the Chef and kitchen staff as needed 

What You'll Need   

·        Proven experience as a Kitchen Assistant, preferably in a care home or similar setting 

·        Strong knowledge of dietary needs and restrictions 

·        Food Hygiene Level 2 is essential

·        Strong attention to detail and cleanliness 

·        Ability to work independently and as part of a team 

·        Great communication skills  

·        Commitment to providing high-quality service
