Rate Of Pay: £45,000 to £50,000 per year
Shift Patterns: Days, 40 hours a week contract
Information about the Role: Occupational Therapist at Barclay House your duties will include the following:
Composing and articulating occupational therapy reports based on assessment and treatment.
Responsible for the clinical Occupational Therapy provision for patients.
To oversee the activity needs of the patients in and beyond care, ensuring that support is offered to care workers and activity staff to ensure adequate activity provision for patients.
To undertake occupational therapy assessments and treatment.
Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient records in line with company and professional standards and provide activity/audit reports as required.
To support the organisation, delivery, and monitoring of the service.
Carry continuing responsibility for the co-ordination and assessment of patients' occupational therapy needs, along with the planning, implementation, and evaluation of therapy.
Assess and provide equipment to aid rehabilitation and improve quality of life, ensuring that appropriate instruction, training and safety awareness is given where needed.
Promote maximum independence by selecting and constructing therapies according to needs
Information about the Service: Barclay House provides a safe and therapeutic environment in which a dedicated team will support you on your Brain Injury Rehabilitation journey.
Acquired brain injury (ABI) refers to any type of brain damage that occurs after birth. It can include damage sustained by infection, disease, lack of oxygen or a blow to the head.
We recognise that you should only be in inpatient services for the minimum amount of time necessary and we will engage with your community team to support a safe discharge into the community.
We aim to put you at the centre of your rehabilitation, supporting you to live as independently as possible.
We provide services for people who are in need of:
Acute services
Assessment and Treatment under the Mental Health Act
The management of violence and aggression
Support and risk management during periods of suicide and/or self-harm behaviour
Assessment and treatment following transfer from other services such as prisons, police custody, community services and other Acute services.
We have designed our care programmes to assist in the prompt reduction of acute symptoms with an emphasis on the individual’s health and wellbeing and can further offer environments within our services that operate within a successful rehabilitation framework.
Necessary Experience or Qualifications:
Degree in Occupational Therapy
Registration with appropriate professional body (HCPC)
Someone who has a real passion for caring and helping people.
At least 6-months experience of working as an Occupational Therapist.
Ability to work on shift/rota pattern.
Have the right to the work in the UK
